moby dick cover

This book cover is a redesign of the classic novel, Moby Dick by Herman Melville. Considered one of the most important classics of American novels, my goal was to capture the novel’s relevancy with a simple and bold design. A large whale would engulf the main composition of the cover as its tail would “camouflage” itself within the title. The illustrations utilize only three colors as when placed together, they brighten and contrast each other visually.

This book consists of multiple elements. The covers consists of two side sleeves which contain simple design illustrations that act as symbols to the plot and characters of the story. In addition, I also designed some examples of chapter title compositions to showcase how these illustrations could be implemented.
